If you are thinking of staying at a World of Hyatt hotel anytime between now and spring, you’ll want to take advantage of Hyatt’s current Bonus Journeys Promotion.
World of Hyatt has launched its newest promotion for the beginning of 2022. This latest promotion can be stacked with the current American Airlines promotion, which offers 1,000 bonus American Airlines AAdvantage miles per stay at Hyatt hotels in the United States. That promotion runs through the end of January; however, you must register by December 15, 2021.
American Airlines and World of Hyatt entered into a partnership back in 2019 that allows elite members of both programs to take advantage of various benefits depending on their status level. First, Hyatt elites can earn 1 World of Hyatt point per $1 spent on American flights, while American elites can earn 1 AAdvantage mile per $1 spent on qualifying Hyatt stays.
If you are an elite member with either program, be sure to link your accounts here.
Bonus Journeys Promotion
The newest World of Hyatt promotion can earn members 2,022 extra points every 2 nights from January 15 through April 20, 2022. That amounts to ~$40 back every 2 nights. Thankfully, the nights do not need to be consecutive to qualify for the bonus points during the promotion. Additionally, you do not need to be an elite member to take advantage of this promotion.
For example, you could stay 1 night in early February and then stay for another night later in the month and earn the 2,022 bonus points, despite the nights you stayed weren’t back-to-back. So this is an excellent opportunity to combine nights of various stays and earn extra bonus points.
You earn 2,022 bonus points on up to 20 nights, which equates to 20,220 points earned in total. If you max out the promotion, that is roughly $400 back and enough points for a 4-night stay at a Category 1 hotel or a one-night stay at a Category 5 hotel.
Extra Perk for World of Hyatt Credit Cardholders
If you happen to hold the World of Hyatt Credit Card or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, there is an additional opportunity for those members. Cardholders will receive an extra 1,000 bonus points per night when they stay at one of 180+ participating hotels in 10 cities. There is no need to register as a cardholder member; if you registered for the promotion, you are automatically enrolled.
If you maximize the offer, you can earn an additional 10,000 bonus points if you stay 10 nights at a qualifying hotel. Combining both promotions, you could earn over 30,000 World of Hyatt points or enough to spend the night in some of their most ultra-luxury hotels such as:
- Alila Ventana Big Sur
- Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa
- Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort
- Park Hyatt New York
- Hyatt Centric Park City
Military Considerations
According to the Defense Travel Management Office, there are currently 20 Hyatt properties on the 2021 DoD Preferred Commercial Lodging List. While that makes up only a tiny percentage of preferred military hotels, the award night benefits and customer service you receive at a higher category hotel or as an elite status member often outweighs the fact that Hyatt hotels have a smaller footprint.
Bottom Line
Hyatt has announced their first promotional offer of 2022, with additional benefits for holding one of its credit cards. Those who take advantage of this promotion could earn over 30,000 World of Hyatt points. There is no downside to registering for this promotion, even if you don’t have any Hyatt stays currently planned for the first quarter of 2022.
