Targeted Offer: 5x Bonus Hyatt Points For Amazon, Groceries & Restaurants

Hyatt has offered targeted World of Hyatt credit card members the opportunity to earn 5x Bonus Points for every $1 you spend on up to $1,500 in combined purchases at Amazon.com, grocery stores, and restaurants from January 15 through March 31, 2022, with your World of Hyatt credit cards.

Per the terms of the offer:

  • You must activate by 03/31/22 at 11:59 pm E.T.
  • 5x Bonus Points per $1 spent in Amazon, grocery store, and restaurant categories up to $1500
  • Total Bonus Points shown are the maximum you can earn on those purchases during the promotion.
  • Amazon.com category does not include purchases from merchants using Amazon Pay or purchases made at international Amazon retail sites.

This promotion is an outstanding one with some solid bonus categories. If you already have the World of Hyatt card, check your email folders for the targeted offer.

World of Hyatt Military Benefits

Hyatt offers a military hotel discount at most participating locations. Veterans, active-duty armed service members, and their families can save 10% on leisure stays. To search for rooms that have this discount, click the box under “Special Rates” and then select “Veteran.”

When booking, it is best to check other special offer codes as the military rate is not always the lowest. In my experience, the member rate is often lower than any other offer code available. All that is required to get the member rate is to sign up for Hyatt’s free loyalty program.

Perhaps the best military benefit Hyatt offers is the World of Hyatt credit card from Chase. The World of Hyatt credit card provides members with Discoverist status as long as the account remains open. In addition, the cardmember receives five qualifying night credits towards your following tier status every year and earns two additional qualifying night credits every time you spend $5,000 on the card. Most importantly, the $95 annual fee for active-duty military members and spouses will be waived.

Military Considerations

According to the Defense Travel Management Office, there are currently 20 Hyatt properties on the 2021 DoD Preferred Commercial Lodging List. While that makes up only a tiny percentage of preferred military hotels, the award night benefits and customer service you receive at a higher category hotel or as an elite status member often outweighs the fact that Hyatt hotels have a smaller footprint.
